Hello fellow soul-catchers, welcome,
This hot and muggy feeling can cloud the brain. But even within the heat, I continue to find clarity - in the space and mission of Sparrow to celebrate lives. First responders and teachers help us lead vibrant lives, and in their honor Sparrow is instituting a special 15% discount to all in perpetuity.
In September, we start a new chapter to support people in times of grief through our new partnership with Dwellness Therapy. I have known the co-founder of Dwellness, Jamie Weiner, LMHC, since she took care of my daughters when they were young. I am thrilled - but not surprised - to watch her build a career centered around supporting others. We will offer a Moving with Grief Series utilizing somatic witnessing and authentic movement, personalized Grief Walks through NYC parks and cemeteries and Grief Support Groups centered around the specialized support needed for different types of death. Registration information coming soon.
When you have an hour and a half, watch Family Squares. Admittedly, I watched it on a plane - I’ll watch, laugh, and cry about nearly anything from 31,000 feet up. This comedy about the loss of a matriarch in COVID-19, whose death was not from COVID-19, follows a family mostly separated by Zoom. Even so, secrets are pushed to the surface.
With gratitude and ice cubes,
Erica
