After a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, our beloved Guylene Leconte entered peacefully into eternal rest on May 4, 2026, at her home in Brooklyn, New York, at the age of 62.
Born in Haiti, Guylene later settled in New York, where she dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and serving others with love and compassion. She was a faithful and devoted wife to her beloved husband, Edras, and a loving mother to Jean Lamar, Marie Ludnie, Charledrine, Anabel, Sebastien, and Deborah.
Guylene was a cherished grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Avery, Elora, Lilith-Isabel, Zaheer, Neissa, Adele, Neisson, and Chaelle who brought immense joy and light into her life. Her nurturing spirit, gentle heart, and unwavering strength touched everyone blessed to know her.
A woman of deep faith and wisdom, Guylene believed wholeheartedly in the importance of education, encouragement, and uplifting others. She not only guided her own children toward success but also opened her heart and hands to help many other young people pursue their dreams and purpose in life.
Even through illness, she carried herself with grace, dignity, and trust in God. Her life was a testimony of perseverance, kindness, and unconditional love. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord, free from pain and suffering.
Guylene’s beautiful legacy of faith, love, sacrifice, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” — John 11:25
Her love, strength, and kindness will live on in all of us. Her memory will forever be a blessing in our hearts.
